„Am meisten Angst habe ich vor mir selbst“, ist die spontane Antwort eines Crewmitglieds der internationalen Weltraumkolonie aspernSeestadt auf die Frage, wovor er sich fürchte. Welcome on board! So sicher ist das Leben
schon in den ersten Modulen des Bau-Abschnitts, die alles beinhalten müssen, damit die BewohnerInnen, die sich zur Migration bereit erklärten dort leben können. Angeführt von einer Raumtaucherin werden Kommandozentralen und Wohnlandschaften besichtigt. Ein Parcours führt vor Ort durch das urbane Territorium und bietet Gespräche über das Leben in einem der größten intergalaktischen Spatial Development Projekte der Gegenwart.
Daniel Aschwanden und Conny Zenk, die Entwickler des Projektes, erweitert zum Kollektiv mit Joanna Zabielska, Matthias Hurtl, Florian Hofer laden zum Tauchgang in die Psyche der noch jungen Kolonie, unterstützt durch die BewohnerInnen Sophie Pfalzer, Jörg Meier , Briant Rokyta . Daten archäologischer Scans ergaben Hinweise auf Nutzungen durch ausgestorbene Bewohner, die nahelegen, dass auf dem Gelände Schlachten stattfanden, auch ist anzunehmen, dass Exponenten Öl – basierter Zivilisationen frühe Flug- und Radmaschinen mit Verbrennungsmotoren nutzten. Beeinflussen diese Fakten die Gegenwart?
Hausbesuch im space village ist eine Performance, die sich spielerisch über die Smartphones der BesucherInnen ausbreitet. Smartphone Screens stellen Zugänge zum Selbstgefühl und den Wohnlandschaften ausgewählter BewohnerInnen der Raumkolonie Seestadt dar. Die TeilnehmerInnen der Exkursion sind eingeladen, Fragen zum Leben in den Wohnmodulen und ihrer technologischen Umgebung zu stellen. Dabei wird das Smartphone zum Kommunkations-Tool in die Weiten des Urbanen und Persönlichen. Allerdings, gibt es Tiefe in diesen flüssigen, digitalen Welten?
Daniel Aschwanden und Conny Zenk schaffen neue, hybride Kunstformen mit Aspekten von Performance, Medien/Choreographien in auf Improvisation basierenden, urbanen Interventionen. In ihren Arbeiten geht es um die Verbindung von Körper und Gadgets sowie die Repräsentation des digitalen Selfies in Social Media, erweitert um den Aspekt der Archive, die sich auf den Smartphones befinden. Auf der Basis eines Verständnisses von Technologie, die aus dem Mainstream in performative Settings geholt wird, ist gerade der Umgang mit diesem exemplarischen Alltagsgegenstand spannend. Aschwanden / Zenk verbindet das Interesse am Verhältnis von Körper und Digitalem. Sie verweisen auf neue Muster, die mittels Smartphone-Technologien in unsere Körper eingeschrieben werden und reflektieren, übersteigern, kommentieren, verändern diese in spielerischen Formen.

Welcome on board! That´s prove of how save life is already inside the first modules of the construction site, including everything to sustain the first migrants who took the risk of living there. Guided by a space diver, command centres and landscaped interiors are visited. A parcours leads through the urban territory and offers q&a and talks with selected inhabitants of one of the biggest intergalactic spatial development projects of present times.

Data extracted from archeological scans proves the historical use of the area by now extinct human species and suggest that it has been a former battlefield and later saw the use of early airplanes and four wheel machines with oil based combustion engines. Do these facts influence present live there?
house call at the space village is a performance spreading playfully via the screens of the visitors smartphones providing access to the self assurance and landscaped interiors of local inhabitants of the space colony. Visitors are invited to ask questions concerning details of life within the modules and their technological surroundings.The smartphone advances to become the ultimate communication tool in the widths of the spacy urban and the personal. Yet, is there any depth within those liquid, digital spaces?
Daniel Aschwanden and Conny Zenk create new formats of hybrid artforms merging aspects of performance, media/ choreografies in urban interventions based on improvisation. Their works deal with the interfaces between body and gadgets as well as the representation of the digital self(ie) in social media. On the base of an understanding of technology taken out of the mainstream into experimental, performative settings, the use of smartphones as an exemplary gadget is crucial to their practice.
Aschwanden / Zenk are afiliated by their common interest in the relations of the body and the digital. The two artists refer to new patterns being inscribed into our bodies by smartphone based technologies and reflect, boast, comment, change them in playful ways.
